I did it with great success!! adding an AUX input to the AM *-track radio.

the radio now as, Mono AM, Stereo 8-Track and Stereo AUX/MP3 input, I have been testing it, and its all working, it uses the Radios Volume control, the Tone Control and L/R Balance, no switches, it will automatically switch from AM to AUX as soon as you plug in the 1/8" jack, and switch to 8-track as soon as an 8-track is intertied.

I have taken many pictures, and I think I will make a tutorial on how to do it, and a Video of the whole set up on the bench working.

Now my next victims will be the AM mono radio, and also the AM/FM radio.

let me know if there is any interest in adding an AUX function to your radio, if there is a great demand, and you are Technically inclined and good with a soldering iron, I will hurry up with the Guide.

here is a video with the setup installed and working.

here is where I have the DMHD-1000i box installed.

its mounted with Velcro so no drilling in to the heater box.

the nice part of the DMHD-1000 it as a wireless remote.

This is great! Can you tell me where to get this and how to install it. I have 3 cars with 8 tracks and would love to have this option.

Thanks

Don

I got the DMHD-1000i on Ebay for about $25

as for modifying the radio, there is some cutting and internal mods to the radio that need to get done.

PM me and I'll discuss it with you.

PM sent

Thanks
