We've got 488 members now and should hit 500 very soon. Should also hit the 20,000 thread mark about the same time. Barry (Rocketfoot), any plans for a party? If anyone wants to head over to the VIP Lounge on the day we make 500/20k, I'll buy the first round.

Congratulations to ALL of you members and guests who have had a part in creating what I believe to be the best website on the internet. The friendship, knowledge, and mutual respect that I find here is unparalleled, in my opinion. It's really a pleasure to be here.

Remember when you could answer every new post the same day. Oh the good old days are gone lol

I know what you mean, Alan. I read every post (except the ones from ForumBot) and it's getting much more time consuming. This morning I had 0 new posts, and I get home from work tonight and there's 163. Oh, well. It's a sign of a successful website. And I enjoy keeping up with everyone's projects.

I don't even remember how I stumbled across this site, around when it was first started. I remember reading every new post every day too, now, there are way too many lol. Once I return to the states and reunite with my car, my computer will be on this site more than any other, by far.

Hey, DJ. I'll leave my spare key under the mat by the back door. Just go ahead and let yourself in. The beer is in the walk-in cooler to the left, and the GOOD brandy is hidden behind the Corn Flakes boxes in the pantry. Help yourself to any cigar in the humidor and make yourself at home. Should be a good time for all. :)

It's a good place with good folks who get along... very rare on the net these days.

Lets not act surprised. We've heard the snide comments about our cars on other sites.

You know, I must admit that twenty years ago when I had my '70 Mach 1 that I was one of the people who used to talk rather unkindly about the 71 - 73 models. Not so much that I didn't think they weren't a nice looking car, but mainly a sense of sadness and indignation that the Ford designers hadn't continued the design on even further with the traditional angled front and beautiful coke-bottle rear quarters of the earlier models, and I thought any true Mustang enthusiast must be mad to have a Mustang that didn't look like what my idea of a Mustang should be.

It was being out of the Mustang scene for many years that finally cured me of that crazy bias. I came to realise the curves and lines of these cars is really something special (lower, wider, longer!), and if the comments I get from the general public are to be believed there's certainly no bias against these cars from non-mustang owners. You've got no idea how many times I've come back to my parked car to find people taking photo's of it, and even cruising on the open road I see people taking photo's from inside other cars - that's not the sign of a car being considered fat and flabby! (unless of course I'm wildly mistaken and the pics they take are being posted on fatnflabby.com:D)

I reckon if Ford had bought out the 71-73 cars under a stand-alone non-mustang name they would be seen today as a ground-breaking unique design, and they'd probably be a lot more expensive than they are at the moment too.

No doubt that the 69 and 70's had some sexy lines, but I think the 71-73's capture the bigger muscle car image of the early 70's. They took the Mustang from Pony Car to Muscle Car! Personally, I love the low, wide, slippery stance of the 71-73's! They are truly in a class of their own!
