1970 Boss 302
which after market flywheel would you suggest for a Boss 351

Thanks

Are you looking for a stock iron replacement or a steel or aluminum wheel? Either way, stay with the 164 tooth wheel that will accept the 11" clutch. I have used Pioneer, RAM, McLeod, Hays, and some others with success.

would you get an internally balanced or externally balanced flywheel thanks

I assume you are referring to the Boss 302. If so, it came externally balanced from the factory. So, unless someone has had the engine internally balanced, you would need to use the externally balanced flywheel.

71 BOSS 351 would be the same

externally balanced 164 tooth, for 11 inch clutch

I am now running an aluminum flywheel on a 429. I've also got one for my 351C that will eventually be built as a high rev 'use the box' kind of street motor. I would say definitely go aluminum unless you have a very long duration cam because it might make idle really lumpy - not sure if that would be a problem. My 351C 164T flywheel is a Fidanza, seems very nice. The 429 one is an old Hays unit, does the job. The engine raps nicely for such a big motor!
