73 convertible top

Hello all -

I recently removed the vinyl off the top and all I have left is the frame. Everything is still attached to the body. My question is this - does anyone know how to retract the frame so it is out of the way? I seem to be able to get it to lift maybe a quarter of the way, though cannot get it to go any further.

I don't want to totally remove the frame, just want to get it in the down position. There is no electricity available to operate the switch, and the engine has not run in close to 20 years.

first oil every pivot and let it soak

with no power you may have to loosen the hose fittings and lose fluid to get it to go

run power wire off of a battery to motor wire

Pull the pins at the top of the hydraulic cylinders. Fold it down. You may need new cylinders in any case since the seals dry up over time.
