How is the retaining clip held in for the trunk lock cylinder? Mine fell out and I don't see how it is held in place.

IIRC, and I'm not saying I do, the 72s and 73s were held in with a single rivet. Does the clip and/or the trunk lid have a 1/8" hole in it. The reproduction clip I've seen assume they are the same from 71 through 73.

I can't get to my car right now to check. Chuck

71 and some early 72's use a standard door lock clip

You reach in and push it on

If you have a slot on the inner lip of your trunk lid 72 and 73 style.

The clip slide in from the outside and gets locked in with two rivets.

I have either clip if you need one

Thanks Don for posting the complete and accurate information. My memory, like several other parts, just isn't what it once was.:) Chuck
