I plan to replace the front and rear shocks next week. Any advice to get at the rear shocks would be appreciated. I've never removed the fold down rear seat before...

 
You don't need to remove the whole seat assy. Fold the seat forward and you'll see there are 4 screws holding the carpeted panel in front of the trap door in place. Remove those screws and lift the panel and you have access to rubber body plugs that cover the top of the shocks.
