Hi Guys,

thought I'd share some of my pics from Race Retro, one of the first shows and races of the year. The highlight was a nice Mach 1 race car (which also raced last year at Speedfest).

Hi Ray,

Thanks for reminding me. I should have remembered that! I spoke to the Team that run it and they said it goes like stink, but is having problems slowing down, the brakes aren't up to it.

That is so very cool, thanks for the post. I like the #22 car and the engine compartment bracing. Something our cars seriously need. Here is one of my favorites. Not retro, but modern resto-mod/pro-touring, I also believe the retro is just as cool.

Take a look at those valve covers, rare as hens teeth.

I know of a board member who has a NOS set of those laying around :D

Oh, some great cars there especially the Stratos and the Audi Quattro. Those Audis were almost impossible to beat at the time, especially when Walther Röhrl was driving. Ah, the memories! :)

Thanks for your comments. It was really great to see the Dark Horse Racing car up close. It's a real beast.

Mike, yes, when I was in my early teens, the Quattro was the stuff of legend. And it looked so cool, especially with the quad square front lights and flared arches. We used to have something called the Lombard RAC Rally here in the UK and the Quattro won supreme.
