All,

I receive newsletters and specials for West Coast Cougars and today they have a new video on the tilt columns that are shared with the mustang’s cousin, the Cougar!

One of the issues with the tilt columns are the pivoting pins work their way out causing damage to the metal parts that includes elongating the pivot pin hole. As we all know, the tilt columns are very expensive now due their limited production quantities.

Check out West Coast Cougar’s YouTube Video on how to install the new pivot pins.

Locking pawl catch pin for your 70-73 tilt steering column for all Lincoln - Mercury - Ford products. This is an improved reproduction with cir-clips to prevent movement, avoiding damage to you locking pawl. These shafts are notorious for working their way out of place with normal use. Once the pin works its way out the locking pawl will not be aligned with the teeth and the cast part will break under pressure. Upgrading to these parts can avoid several hundred dollars in damage. These precision parts are made from drill bit blanks and will never fail. Lifetime warranty, 2 required per car.
