My sleep deprived mind does some strange things. In addition to working a 40 hour week as an attorney, since last friday I have spent another 35+ hours helping a buddy get his rat rod to the next plateau. I have helped install a new windshield (which he has already cracked) have ground out 400 tons of bondo, straightened and skimmed both quarters, cut off a 3/4 tube that forms the wheel opening (that alone took two hours) and sanded and repaired some of the roof and rear deck. I have used over a gallon of Bondo total, but I really did cut out at least as much as I have put in. It is a 28 Model A coupe- but everything I have been working on was hand made out of galvanized and the workmanship was exceedingly poor. Tommy is thrilled with what I have done and the lines are all pretty damn good now, but last night was my last opportunity to finish it and 3 of the 4 sanders have failed in one way or another and we ran out of paper and time. It looks far better and after all it is a rat rod, but I wish I had three more hours with all I needed in materials and supplies before we primed it.
Oh well-I got my driveshaft made yesterday and I'll get back to working on my car after work tonight.
