This Sunday (4/10/16) Kringle candle in Bernardston Ma. It's called Cars and coffee and it's only from 8am to 11:30 am but it's a nice car show and they draw a nice crowd and a good cross section of types of cars from exotics to Rat Rods. Every 2nd Sunday except in May it's the 3rd Sunday in observance of Mothers day. So if your in the area drop by and bring the wife and kids there's other things to see besides cars. I'll see you there.

Going fast is fun but life is short so slow down and enjoy the ride :D Frank

I would drive up, but I can't plot a course of gas stations every 150 mile, with 110 octane from Nashville to there. I'll be there in spirit though. You'll know at the end of the show when someone's car breaks

"I love my Hookers!" and "Get some Strange" probably have a different connotation to non automotive enthusiasts!

My sleep deprived mind does some strange things. In addition to working a 40 hour week as an attorney, since last friday I have spent another 35+ hours helping a buddy get his rat rod to the next plateau. I have helped install a new windshield (which he has already cracked) have ground out 400 tons of bondo, straightened and skimmed both quarters, cut off a 3/4 tube that forms the wheel opening (that alone took two hours) and sanded and repaired some of the roof and rear deck. I have used over a gallon of Bondo total, but I really did cut out at least as much as I have put in. It is a 28 Model A coupe- but everything I have been working on was hand made out of galvanized and the workmanship was exceedingly poor. Tommy is thrilled with what I have done and the lines are all pretty damn good now, but last night was my last opportunity to finish it and 3 of the 4 sanders have failed in one way or another and we ran out of paper and time. It looks far better and after all it is a rat rod, but I wish I had three more hours with all I needed in materials and supplies before we primed it.

Oh well-I got my driveshaft made yesterday and I'll get back to working on my car after work tonight.

Well Tommy is going to have to put in overtime when we build the frame for my 27 T roadster, so it is worth it. It is going to be quite a bit more complex than the typical Model T frames you see- much closer to what you might see under a racecar.

Sleep is overated anyway

I went to the Cars and coffee yesterday and so did quite a few other brave souls, considering the cold temps the turn out wasn't half bad. There was one other 71-73 Mustang which is a surprise in it's self usually I'm alone representing our cars. The other 123 was a unrestored 3rd owner documented original paint original equipment 1973 Mach1 in gold with a C6 351 Q-Code and beside a change In carburetor and intake. was very stock. The Marti report broke this car down to a 1 of 1 equipped like it and although the present owner didn't have a great deal of knowledge of the car the Documentation was undeniable. Truly a time capsule and great to see. I told the owner about our Forum and told him it would be great to see this car here.

They do the same deal here in Bethlehem, PA "Cars and Coffee". They redeveloped the old Bethlehem Steel plant into an entertainment venue called the "Steel Stacks" which is a pretty neat use of the old mill and quite impressive to see. They have a lot of events there so if your ever in the area it's worth a check, Sand Casino also opened up a Casino next door.

Forgot the Pic of the Steel Stacks at Night, need to figure out a way to get my car in a picture with them.

  • 2 months later...

Yesterday was the latest Cars and Coffee that I spoke of in the beginning of the thread and they set a personal best of over 200 cars. I have to admit for a show that only last 4 hours I'm impressed with that kind of turn out. It was a beautiful day and I saw some incredible cars.

No Ray I'm not much of a photographer and I rarely even think about taking pics when I'm at a show or cruise nite. I don't know why with the pure simplicity of these new fangled iphone's that can do just about anything. It just doesn't cross my mind I guess.
