Anyone reading it needs to keep in mind that the writer is referring to race based applications, including his recommendations, and are based on handling quirks of each type of differential on a road course. His descriptions of each type will help readers to decide which type best fits their needs and driving style, though.

For driving on the street, my ranking would generally remain the same as his, except I would move the open and spool differentials to the bottom of the list.

I just roasted a 31 spline Detroit locker. I towed the car on dolly 9 miles to storage and did not know the PO had not put grease in the brand new rear, sucks.

An old trick racers use to do for the strip when money was tight was put an extra set of axle gear shims into the rear. It binds it up and makes both rear wheels pull, lol. Not recommended to daily driver.
