Ordered some Hooker Comp and Flowmasters. Do you just cap the fitting on the air cleaner that has a hose to the exhaust manifold? How have yall done the cap, Fabricated something?

The function of the heat stove was to deliver warm air to the carburetor to improve cold start driveability and improve atomization below a certain temperature.

You can leave it open, but it depends on the type of flapper valve you have. There was a vacuum driven and a thermostatic motor. If you have vacuum hoses on the snorkel, then it'll operate as normal. If there are no hoses, then you might want to lock the door in the snorkel open or it'll always be pulling air through the approx 1 1/2" diameter hose bung in the bottom of the aircleaner snorkel.

If you want it to work as-factory, then Hedman makes a strap on heat stove for headers in several pre-heat hose diameters.
