That is amazing HP but they spent lots of dyno time for sure.

What I thought was more amazing was the Y-Block Ford winning the Vintage class. A 375 C.I. with the stacked intake runners that were tough to get to flow pulled 597.3 H.P. and 565.5 F.P.T. from an engine that came out in 1954 with 130 hp. Of course it was the Mercury version and highly modified but beat out the 283's and 318's of the day. The Y-Block design had a super strong bottom end much like the 427 ford engine with the crank totally inside the block for better support. It just made for a super tall engine back then.

 
Very cool. It is nice that they have disallowed the Coyote builds as they would (did) rule and all would eventually be Coyote.
