Can someone tell me about the bulb socket needed for a 1972 mach 1 sportslamps? The sockets and wiring on mine have been destroyed. Someone spliced on clear fog lamps. I see the Sportlamps are available aftermarket, (NPD #13200-4), but I don't know what else is required.

Anyone have a picture of the socket and bulb when disconnected from the sportlamp?

Thanks

That part is for the entire assembly. The closest socket assembly I can find is NAPA LS6488.

I spent considerable time trying to locate a suitable socket, all the models previously suggested were no longer available or out of stock including the NAPA. Maybe I didn't look hard enough ::shrug::

I did end up finding these and they are an excellent out of the box fit and they are my favourite fitting colour: black!

You need the socket and the pigtail, amazon/ebay/summit

socket: Standard S786 16159

pigtail: Standard S682 16211

Oh, by the way, if I remember correctly the sockets are the same for early to mid 70s Lincoln side markers. That might help if those in my link aren't available.

Yeh Mike. Your original post is where my hunt started but the NAPA socket proved elusive. :chin:

Here's a shot of the S786 socket and S682 pigtail, it was the only readily available suitable without mod socket I could find:

Here's an Amazon link, socket and pigtail bundle listed on page ::thumb::

Hope this helps.

Cool find. I updated my old thread with a link to this one and with the link to the new sockets that Mickus found.
