Race Day at the Gasser Drags

Spent last Saturday at my local track participating in their Gasser Drag event.  All cars pre 1974.  Fantastic day.  Lots of eye candy.  My car is no race car by a long shot but for the sake of the venue, my friends asked me to participate and support the track.  I was the only car there on street tires.  You don't need to be fast if you look this good.

that's exactly the look hubby and I are going to go for with our new 72 fastback. I think we are wanting to do the mach 1 clone in the original color (which is yellow for the one we got). Love it.

9.0 flat at 84mph in the 1/8th mile. 2.4 sec 60'. Had to leave off idle and ease into it or tires would spin. I was the only car there with street tires and the track prep certainly wasn't doing me any favors. I was there more for participation rather than trying to run a number. The track just opened two months ago after being closed for 5 years.
