Replying to thread problem?

Question

When I hit reply to thread and go to next page, I put the cursor in the dialog box and start typing my reply. All good. I get a few letters or few words typed and the cursor disappears and the page scrolls up. Put the cursor back in dialog box, type few more letters and bam same thing keeps happening.  Page doesn't always scroll up but the cursor keeps disappearing. Get to the point that I cannot reply without a lot of time and anger LOL!!  Anyone else have this trouble?? And it has happened on my home computer and my work computer.

Also one other thing when replying to a thread on my iPhone........ I have a serious lag in the letters im typing and the words actually appearing on the screen.  takes forever to reply because I have to stop and wait for the letters to catch up to what I'm typing. And I  don't type that fast!! usually with 1 finger!

I have not had those issues directly but have experienced a problem when replying on the new site format as well. It has to do with spelling mistake correction... after writing a response, I go back to correct the spelling mistakes and in some cases I lose complete sentences and partial paragraphs after making the one correction, just disappear after making the correction. Frustrating...

Kevin, sure glad you posted this when you did. I received a new lap top for Christmas and was on the verge of throwing it out the window. When  replying to a post the curser would disappear and the screen would roll to the bottom of the page. I'm not a fast typist, so combining that with the curser disappearing and screen rolling made for some frustrating moments. Might be just me, but with a long delay in being able to respond to a post, I feel like I'm second guessing someone that has already provided good info when my post comes in behind them with the same info.

I have also had the same thing to happen as Ken has experienced. Spelling corrections have resulted in lost sentences, paragraphs, or occasionally an entire post!

Ha-ha rofl  at least I'm not the only one that has thought of smashing my laptop!!!  What's really frustrating is that it don't happen all the time. but yesterday, I couldn't get through one reply!

It happens to me as well. It seems to be connected to the ad at the bottom of the page. I notice that some ads have issues and so I click on the X for the ad and the problem goes away (for a while).

Is everyone having this issue seeing it while using Internet Explorer Browser?  I have read that there are some issues with MyBB software on IE, especially older versions of IE such as IE 9 or IE10.

Try visiting the forum on Firefox and see if the issues persist.

OMG typical IT dude, blame the user. ;)

But yes I am using IE. 11.0.9. I will give it a shot with my chrome browser and see if the problem persists. It's interesting, it wasn't happening while replying to this thread. So I scrolled down and saw there was a video ad playing. Once it finished I came back up here to reply and the problem started. It's almost like when the new ad started it 'pulled' me down to the bottom of the page.

Anyone with an ad-blocker turned on having this issue?

I haven't had the problem with IE 11, Edge, or Firefox on my desktop and laptop, nor on Google/Android on my tablet. I do keep my devices updated, so maybe that helps.

Not blaming the user...blaming Internet Explorer!  LOL, there are a lot of sites out there that IE doesn't like to play well with!  Firefox and Chrome make a point to try and be compatible with everyone!
