rear bumper fit

Ok,

Going to be replacing my rear bumper soon.

Who has the best quality out there ?

Also not liking how much the rear bumper on my 71 fastback  sticks out.

Is it a fairly common modification to tuck it in a little ?

Looks like it would be as simple as shortening the brackets and a little heli-arc to stich them back up and re-install.

Would like to move it in about 3/4'' to 1'' closer to the body.

Who has done this and what are the concerns ?
