Looking for a pair of original 72 front fender trim in non chrome for the Mach 1. Have new chrome ones but not sure on painting over chrome and longevity.

We use to make lots of the bright aluminum parts for Ford We made most of the Grills in big cars and all of the F-150 grills and some trim until they went to plastic. Any of the parts that got black out are the same as the bright. You just have to treat the area and make sure it is clean. You can spray the black and save hunting.

What about the chrome fender eye brow pieces. They are chrome but need to be busy color. Same thing?

Any of the trim on the car is aluminum except for windshield frame on vert and it is stainless. They run the parts polish then anodize and if they get paint or not is up to models lots of time back then.

The headlight frames on Mach 1 and cars with decor group got blacked out frames. Ones with standard grill got just all aluminum. There is actually no chrome on our cars but for the bumpers and bumper guards and door handles, lol several thing got chrome but not headlight doors.

I have no idea what Dave is talking about. You cant paint over the chrome fender trim. Put them in a blasting cabinet or sand the chrome off.
