Convertible vs Convertable

Me too, are you asking whether or not convertible should be capitalized? Or if it should be spelled convertable? If either one, the answer to both is no.

 
I'm with Will e. Rag Top or Drop Top was what the gear heads I hung around with called convertibles. And....was much easier to spell! [emoji16]

I guess the spell check answered your question as it doesn't accept the version with an "a".

You can blame the French for that oddity. The etymology of convertible is directly from French. Most of our other words ending in "able" are that way. So, it's no wonder we pronounce it as convert"able".
