Ram air

Hi,I have just bought plenum and snorkels for my 72,but require the actuator vacuume motors it seems you can buy them as a kit but hard to find them separate does any one know where I can get them pls

I bought the snorkels second hand as live in England and they were to expensive to buy

With the plenum with post etc from the states

I have found the search has changed it use to be very easy to ask a question

And info came up very easy now the site has changed its not so easy

ram air actuators may not be sold alone as reproductions, but they are reproduced and available on the reproduction plenums. I took a quick look and they appear to be about 210 bucks, but the oversized shipping would be a killer. If it were me I would have someone buy the plenum, and send you the actuators in exchange for a free plenum.

Unless you happen to luck out and find a set for sale such as on E-Bay, your probably going to end up repairing yours. Ford never offered the vacuum motors separately, but were part of a duct and valve assembly. And it looks like Dynacorn is not going to offer just the motors, but is going to make you purchase the plenum and duct assemblies, which doesn't help anyone that already had the ram air setup. At one time Perogie Enterprises offered a rebuild service, but not sure they do anymore since the supply of repo motors like NPD sold are no longer available. And Perogie can be very expensive, something I found out after tracking down some Shaker Ram Air parts for a friends 70 Torino Cobra.

The threads Jeff posted above offer you some insight on how you could try rebuilding yours.

rackerm also had great post back in May that gave some further options on repairing your motors. If your car is a driver and your not concerned about Concours level appearance then at least you have some options. If your car is not concours, I suggest not wasting your time or money on a ram air set up-they offer no performance gain and make your hood close too easily

I talked with one of the Perogie brothers at the June Ford Nationals at Carlise. They stopped rebuilds of the actuators due to unavailability of the motor units about a year ago.
