The only advantage to the original Ford tool is that the angled slot allows it to be placed over the pinch weld and self supporting while raising the car. The $75 tool still requires it to be held in place while lifting the car. If it were self supporting $75 wouldn't seem so high.

A rare earth magnet would take care of that problem.
