1973 Mustang Grande 351C 2V, built on the very last production day (July 6, 1973) for Grande's.
Howdo! I thought it would be easier on the forum (members) to centralise my garage/mustang updates in one thread.

So I bought this unit last summer:

Which got filled up quickly:

But since the unit is 8 metres in height I’m going to put in an extra floor.

And today the metal arrived to support the wooden floor:

These beams are 375 cm so the floor will be high enough to have a four post lift underneath with a car on top of it.

Your new man cave looks great and the extra floor with hoist underneath is a good way to make the most of the area you have.

Will be interesting to see how you set it up when done

Welded all 16 plates on to the square tubes. I wanted to continue drilling holes and start putting primer on but it started snowing so much that it was smarter to try and be home before it was dark...

Yes! The first pole is up, and so are the 2nd and 3rd :) Only 5 more to go. I managed to drill 8 holes (for four poles) without stumbling on concrete-steel but holes 9 and 10 took 2 of my drills out after hitting steel :-/

Little update on my garage here :)

Put first few beams in:

Starts to look like a floor:

And the stairs leading to it are coming along nicely too:

Finally some good progress :)

Nice job.

Still I think you should have considered a lift. It's epensive but it's the best investment you can ever make. I had a second floor poured in concrete in my garage when I built the house and it took me 13 years to finally have it cut out so I could install a lift.

I wish I'd done so earlier.

Your garage is extraordinary as it is hard to find a space that's high enough to accept a lift in the first place.

But I like your craftmanship there. Looks really good.

Thanks guys!

Lux: the floor is 4 metres up, I made it that high so that a lift with a car on top at its highest position still fits underneath. So I think there will be a lift in the future, don’t worry ;-)

Nice progress Vinnie!

Aside a lift, may be keeping an opening to lift parts upstairs could be handy as well.

I mean, bringing a rear bumper or head cylinders for/from storage on this stair 4 meters high with no hands free,

could become a performance on itself...

Its gonna be awesome to work/enjoy the hobby in such spacy clean garage!

Few more days of work, one of them with my 72 year old dad which was cool (and made him happy) coz he used to be a carpenter.

Stairs are now finished and all the beams are in place:
