Looking to replace my stock cast iron bell housing with an aluminum one.

Looking for members who have been there and done that.

I have a 1971 FB with 351 C and toploader/ bell housing / flywheel from 1973 Q code mach.

the flywheel is 164 teeth and have 11'' clutch set up.

in my search I see 2 possibility's

C5AA6394-B= C5AZ6392-D

C9AA6394-A= C9AZ6392-A

on the David Kee web site it states that the bell housing MUST be 6.125 deep to accommodate

my toploader input shaft, and those from truck applications will NOT work.

can anyone confirm if the 2 above part numbers will work?

and if so, will there be any modifications needed ?

I can confirm this number fits, C5AA6394-B. It is on my Cougar B2 with 164 tooth flywheel and 11" long style clutch and small block top loader.

I can say that some bells from 70's pickup would work, but it's up too you to check for sure....

Let the search begin,

Will start at my local salvage yard where the owner has a trailer full of housings.

if he has the C5AA-B ,I can get it for next to nothing, not going to do any vehicle checks till the snow is gone.

Thanks Chuck
