started to change fuel filter yesterday and noticed the rubber line to carb was solid as a brick no give to it, took clamp off of filter and the fuel shot about 7 feet and emptied the the line from carb and some out of bowl from the amount that came out,( under a lot of pressure ) i have never really been an Edelbrock guy always ran Holley and never ran into this before. any ideas?

Sounds like the needle, seat and check valve in the pump (if equipped) are in good shape and doing their job.

If it's not running rich, I wouldn't mess with it.

Gas with 5#-6# PSI on it will shot along way.
