Heads Up Display HUD anyone use one?

Heads Up Display   Looking for info.

If you use one, what kind do you have and do you like it?

A general comment, I never wanted one till I bought a Vette that had it.  It took about ten minutes and now I can't imagine ordering a new car without it.   I've been looking at add on units but haven't pulled the trigger for my older cars.  I've heard that a standard windshield usually works pretty well compared to one "designed" for HUD.

My wife's GMC Acadia Denali has the heads up. I think its great. Never thought about an aftermarket one.

I have an app on my iPhone that does that. I used it while I was waiting for my new speedo gears after I changed the rears from 3.0 to 3.8.

You place your phone on top of your dash board facing up and you're good to go.

Worked pretty well. One thing I didn't like was that for it to work you need to give the app access to gps tracking so it can see how fast you're going and I don't like apps tracking me.

But it was both easy to read and accurate.

However the phone's screen would sometimes make a reflection in the windshield which bugged me a little.

^ I do the same as Luxstang. My speedo doesn't work so I just use my phone reflecting off the windshield.
