I have a 429 with a c6 trans attached. Out of a 71 thunderbird. Is the transmission the same length? And will it bolt right up to the cross member?

I'm about 99% sure the MM and frame perches are different..  The T-bird uses the wider mounts that were in LTD and other large corp cars. I'm putting a 70 LTD motor in mine and have ran into this issue myself. Basically, the LTD type mount is wider f-r by about 1" and are offset too much to put the engine, tranny in the right location. Picture below may help you identify them.

My 72 T-bird with a 429 had the long tailshaft.

Another issue will be the column shift bellcrank on the trans doesn't play well with a floor shift.
