Vinyl roof trim removal

Is it possible to remove my vinyl roof trim on my 73 grande without taking down the new head liner?

Both vinyl to and headliner were done by PO. It about the only thing he did well so I don’t want to mess with it before a respray.

Most of the molding fasteners on the Grande top trim are a bolt thru type. You'll need to pull down the headliner in many places to access them.

I figured the vinyl top trim would be like the Decor Group trim. Have T studs welded for the clips to slide onto. Headed to garage will look at the Ford manual and see if it shows.

WOW that is a pain. Wonder why they did not use the posts for that trim? That way you just slide the clips over the posts and snap the trim on. Is Mach 1 trim on vinyl roof the same? I need to remove mine and polish trim.

Mach 1 vinyl roof trim snaps on so you do NOT have to remove headliner.

WOW that is a pain. Wonder why they did not use the posts for that trim? That way you just slide the clips over the posts and snap the trim on. Is Mach 1 trim on vinyl roof the same? I need to remove mine and polish trim.

Mach 1 vinyl roof trim snaps on so you do NOT have to remove headliner.

That is good to know. I assume you just pop it off the plastic clips then slide the clips off the studs?
