I have a D1ZF GA carb. Shows in the ford parts manual as a 1971 Boss and CJ 351. Has Autolite bowl cover with large fuel inlet. Rochester carb rebuilder says it is a late 71 service replacement as it was a rochester design. Has a lockdown for the kickdown. Does anyone have any documentation of what this carb came on?

Raven, the original carburetor for the 71 Boss 351 is D1ZF-ZA. The D1ZF-GA is the original carb for the 71 Q 351 CJ. There was also a FA version with the same part number as the GA. The D1ZF-FA/GA carb is also the first service replacement for the 71 R Boss.

D1ZF-ZA (D1ZZ-9510-Z)  replaced by

D1ZF-FA, GA (D1ZZ-9510-C) replaced by

D2PF-TA, D2ZF-BB (D2AZ-9510-N) replaced by

D3ZF-JA, KA, LA, MA (D3ZZ-9510-E replaced by

D4PE-FA                    (D4OZ-9510-F)

There were four more replacements but were mostly emissions compliant carburetors as two of them were for  California only.

All the above carburetors are 4300D spread bore Motorcraft models that did not have the same bolt pattern as the Rochester carbs. The Rochester was a 1971 only application used on the 429 CJ.
