I plan on adding some adapters for additional gauges, T fittings and in-line heater hose temp adapter, made of brass. I'd like to paint them black to hide them a little more as opposed to having the glaring brass fitting under the hood.

Will plain brass tarnish after some time? To paint it, can I just use regular Krylon paint or do I need a primer first, then the paint?

For some reason I thought painting brass was different that painting other metals, but I may be wrong.

Thanks!

1st is clean clean clean. Rub down with steel wool, then wipe, clean well with degreaser, wipe with damp cloth, once dry use a self etching primer, then use an enamel paint. Should hold up fairly well.
