cable for 3 speed manual trans problem

Hi all,

My speedo cable was yanked out of the fitting and the fitting is still inside the case as seen in the pics

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix or is this a job for a transmission shop?

Just take the bolt out of the "U" shaped clamp, clean it off, and pull the remnants of the old cable housing/fitting out of the transmission, get a new cable assembly and you'll be good to go.

Any suggestions on how to pull the part out? It’s in tightly so I’m wondering if I can pry it out or maybe thread a bolt into it and they pulling it out that way. I’m concerned about damaging the trans case

Use a sheet metal screw or lag bolt threaded into the center of the fitting. You can't damage the case like that.
