Looking for help on timing a 72 with a 351C and a Cam.  Not certain which cam is in it due to buying this from an estate, all I was told is that it is a roller cam. I do know it has close chamber heads.  Can anybody recommend to me where to set the timing on this beast?

With a timing light I would start at 14 degrees of initial and go from there. Some will say start lower, but it seems that the Cleveland likes more like 15-16 of initial and 36-38 when all in. So starting lower than that seems like a waste of time to me, but I guess no matter what it is as long as it doesn’t ping under a load is what matters. And you need to make sure your distributor is curved right.

Thanks!!  :thankyouyellow:

I have a 73 351 C bored .050", cam but do not know the specs, flat top pistons, MSD, 2-V heads with performer 4-V intake and Holley. Mine does best with 6 deg. It never runs hot even in stop and go traffic in 90 deg. weather.

I run 90 octane ethanol free with Lucas gas upper cylinder lube that really makes big difference.
