So I was driving my 73 Mach 1 yesterday and it did not break !!!  while that was a major accomplishment, I noticed that the horse emblem in the middle of the speedo was lit up red.  thats surprised me because a) I didn't think any of the illumination on the dash worked at all b) I didn't know the pony was a warning light.  the light eventually went off.  it didn't concern me because the other gauges tell me temp, oil pressure etc.  can someone tell me what this red light is?  thanks

haha. I bet I accidentally stepped on the floor clicker...wait, lol, I actually don't know if this has a floor clicker....I haven't driven at night yet because the headlights don't work....but I'll check. thanks

I'd be checking that real quick !  If you don't know about the " floor clicker " or if you even have one, there could be exposed wires under the carpet.  Not good !

The dimmer switch - aka floor clicker - has a direct plug  connection and, yes, that is the nifty red high beam warning light.  If the switch is not there, get one from nearest supplier and fit it s .a .p.  This may also be why your headlights don't work.  Some investigating to be done.  Pull the carpet back & have a look.
