Cigarette Lighter as Charger?

I use to charge cell phone no issue. I never leave the battery hooked up when not driving. I have quick disconnect and take loose every time I stop.

I use to charge cell phone as well. I am not sure I would hook up an inverter though. Like David I also unhook my battery when I park the car, just good practice.

+1 on the phone charger. You could run a small inverter, 15 amp input, 180 watts maximum. I believe the lighter has a 20 amp fuse, so you should limit the load to 75% of that (15 amps).

Just remember to unplug it when the car is not running, the outlet is hot all the time.

Quick question on cigarette lighters troubleshooting: I’m going to splice or tap into tat location for my aftermarket radio but I’m not getting any readings from the hit elbow connector
I’m not expert but if the lighter doesn’t work can I assume the line is bad and if the hot ain’t working too?
I ohm metered the space plug and it gets a reading maybe I’m doing this wrong
Anyway, any advice is great!

I would start by checking the fuse for the lighter. Remember, the lighter is hot when the ignition key is off. You might want to read this thread, too.

Midlife harness was correct it was a fuse. Once I replaced it everything was fine
I used a tap and connected the constant wire to the cig lighter hot lead
