Hi all

Since I am still pretty new to the scene, I wondered if anybody can recommend a good dual exhaust system for the 302 engine. I Still got the single oem installed. I want to get that nice rumbling v8 sound that I am so addicted too. The oem exhaust fails in that aspect

Thanks for the help

Several members here are running precision exhaust systems and the feedback has been positive.

If you want to retain true factory appearance Precision is the way to go. Gonna be more expensive than basic shop system.

If you want a basic dual exhaust, might be worth stopping in local exhaust system shop (used by other vintage car folks) and discuss it with them. They can probably fabricate a system for pretty reasonable cost -- and could utilize any brand muffler you want to use.

For a simple bolt-on installation with cast manifolds, Mustangs Unlimited offers a dual exhaust kit for the 302.

Given the proximity, I believe their kits are made by Precision Exhaust.

Another option would be Tri-Y headers, 2 1/4" dual kit and the Tri-Y H-pipe. Looks liek their Tri-Ys are out of stock, you could call them and see if the Scott Drakes are compatible with the H-pipe.

Ill call the guys from mustangs unlimited. They seem to be very reasonable priced

thanks for all the help

There's so much room in the engine bay with my '71 302, I run ceramic coated Patriot long tube headers, mated to a 3" exhaust, with X-pipe and Jones mufflers. Sounds like a nasty big block!
