Hi

Im planing to stroke my 351c. 3.5 gears, 4r70w tranny(2300 stall converter) , 2v CHI Heads , Howard Roller rockers. What Roller cam should I choose ?

Any suggestion ? Im thinking 520-530 hp and great tq should not be impossible with the heads, that flows 300 cfm.

Regards Rob

I just dyno’d 513hp on Friday with 381 ci Cleveland and .625 inch custom hydraulic cam Speced out by Brent Lykin at Lykin Motorsports.

With heavily ported 4v heads! And SVO Torker style intake 10.3/1 compression, and 600cfm Holley.

He can have a custom billet Comp cam to your door in about 10 days.

His number is 502-759-1431

He will ask you about 100questions so have all your facts ready.

Thats impressive for such a small carb!  Throw an 850 on there and see what it does.

That was just to break in really.

I brought it home and have a super sniper and hyperspark combo for it....

Hopefully it will be the ticket.

I hope to chassis dyno it at some point...

::thumb:: VERY NICE!!!

Hi All and thanks for your answer.

I have not yet checked out the compression or which pistons to use. Probably Diamond or JE maybe. Heads are 62cc.

Regards Rob

The great question...

What came first? The chicken or the egg?

Same is true with performance engines...

What came first? Static compression ratio or camshaft?

With those small chambers on the CHI heads you will probably have to go with a pretty “spicy” camshaft to lower your dynamic compression ratio to a pump gas friendly number.

Use the tools Don posted. Make a camshaft and static compression ratio choice that suits your desired end result.

I suggest contacting Randy Gilis at Race-Tech Pistons. They will make what ever you want at little to no extra cost. The owner used to own JE. Chuck

I had a set of -10cc Racetec pistons made for my 64cc 4v heads.

My compression ended up at 10.3.

I used an Eagle forged 3.750 crank and Calles Compstar 6.125 rods...
