1973 Mustang Convertible (Mach I Tribute)
The very top button broke off on my 73 antenna.

I found a video and wonder is that all there is to change as the Mustang in the video is a 65/66.

Looking to avoid any surprises.

Thanks

It's 4 screws on the fender and fishing the cable thru

I have the correct solid mast version

Comes with pillar grommet, clip, seal, screws and all

Thanks Don, but since my 73 is far from original, can't see going for $70 single mast, when I can get the adjustable mast for under $20 from you.

HMMM??? Before i start pulling out the whole antenna. is the mast replaceable by itself? Does it somehow screw off?

The 20 one is a generic hooks under the fender and has a screw on cap version

Here's a pic of my antenna. Before I pull the chrome cover off, could this be one that screws off once the cover is off? (The mark to the left of the cover is just a light reflection).

Hmmm??? Took the cover off and did try to unscrew it...No good and didn't want to force the issue and break it off. Anything special to unscrew? Pretty sure it's OEM and possibly on the car since 1990 when it was restored. Of course should I force to unscrew and it breaks off, solves the problem of replacing just the mast or the whole antenna...LOL

That does not look like it will screw off

On the later version that screws off, you do not remover the chrome cover to do so.
