Hey guys, has anyone hooked up a kick down cable on a C6 to an Edelbrock carby (1406). Have purchased vehicle but has been disconnected so would like to get it back to operating mode. So looking very options to get it done. Is a 71 Mach 1.

Thanks.

I recommend the Lokar kickdown cable setup for an Edelbrock. The mechanical kickdown setup on the Edelbrock pushes the throttle cable out at an extreme angle and just creates more problems. There are some pics in the thread linked below.

I did one on a 390 FE with an Edelbrock and C6, using the original 2 barrel kickdown rod, required extensive modifications, including lengthening it. Do like Hemikiller recommended, get the Lokar cable.

It's same issue with Holley Sniper. there is a 3.5 cm offset from original throttle cable bracket just like with Edelbrock intakes/carbs.

The original bracket needs be modified.

As the KD solution from Lokar for FMX was ridiculous, as I will need one for my C6, went looking

Looks better for C6, but why on earth do they let the cable be exposed for such a long distance, as the KD travels just a few degrees, instead of 5 or 6 inches, it could be right next to it by having a bracket either longer or attached from pan bolts (2 longer ones required).
