is there a definitive test/way to tell if rear transmission mount needs to be replaced ? Was told this was something to check on ref. a problem with a possible drive line vibration, but it looks ok and there is no movement or looseness in the mount. Don't know if it is original or not. C6 auto Thanks

first get the car up on tall jack stands.. then u can use a crow bar to try and lift the trans.. but the mounts really aren't that pricey so u may just replace.. while up on the stands fire it up (someone IN THE car) and put in gear. tape a piece of chalk to a stick (so you are not under it) and gently move to shaft in different places. u should have chalk mark all the way around not half way. this is a cheap way to see what's happening. also look at the rear trans bushing and rear input bearing/bushing for slop, and u joints.
