This past Saturday I installed a 351C and toploader into my 71' Mach 1 I purchased an aftermarket equalizer bar, as well as a new nylon bushing and felt seal that attaches to the inner bracket that mounts onto the block.
The issue I am having is the bottom hole on the inner bracket does not align with the hole in the bell housing. It is about 3/8 of an inch off.
The nylon bushing that slips onto the inner bracket fits loose. I would think it would have a snugger fit. What I think is the issue is the felt seal that sits behind the bushing, between the inner bracket and equalizer bar, is too thick. Perhaps someone produces a rubber seal that would fit better. I've attached a couple of photos.
This is my first time attempting a project like this. Any help or guidance is appreciated.
Thanks
