Yes, no matter what that should be changed or converted to volts. The amp gauge is just a fire hazard.

I plan on going with the 3G, primarily due to cost and ease of repair and/or replacement. There's some information on stock and 3G wiring, and 3G selection, in the attachment in this thread

The best way to handle the ammeter is to have Rocketman, a site advertiser and supporter, convert it to a voltmeter.
