Who has what in the aftermarket console world?   I had ordered a standard "hump hugger" from NPD when I first got my car (I MUST HAVE MY DRINK HOLDERS!!) A

and, of curse, since it is made by TMI it took 8 weeks to arrive.  Lucky for me then screwed up the order and sent me a brown one instead of green because I did not like it.  Cup holders would not hold s$%t!!  Small, maybe they would hold a tiny bottle of water but that was it.  Needless to say NPD took it back as they were to blame for the wrong color.  As I near my interior completion I now look to others.  Does anyone have any experience with aftermarket consoles and if so thoughts?  What about the "cruiser consoles" which offer more coverage?

this was the one with the tiny cupholders:  https://www.npdlink.com/product/console-custom-standard-palomino-fits-over-trans-tunnel/202688/202149

I am considering one of these

I have the first one you sent back. The cup holders are pretty small. But I like the console, I just remove the black plastic inserts and I can put a can with a can cooler in it. Or a bottle fits in too. It is holding up pretty good, except for one of the velcro straps that hold it in broke. I was going to screw it down to the floor, but it’s good enough with the straps. Plus I can remove it easily if I want to.

I didn’t want the second one you list, looks way to big and bulky for me, and the last one says it’s for convertibles. Not sure what would be different with that one. Not really much else to chose from and I didn’t want to spend 600-700 bucks for a repo full length console.

I have a factory console and I made a cup holder from an old motorcraft oil filter I put it on arm that I can easily install and remove as it uses the passenger front seat bolt to mount. I only put it in if going on long cruise where there are not a lot of stops.

Link to insert cup holder that fits in the factory long console where the ash tray is. I have never laid hands on just saw them. https://www.cjponyparts.com/classic-consoles-cup-holder-plug-and-chug-1971-1973/p/PAC2-V/?msclkid=53c1710f5a3e19eff0692fcdc3e4c303&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=New%20Bing%20Shopping%20Ads&utm_term=1101201852451&utm_content=All%20Products#220=1141&year=1971

The repo long console has incorrect texture on it. I held one of them at a show in Charlotte. Very different and expensive.

Measure the width and length you want and head for the nearest Pik-N-Pull or Pic-a-Part and see what you can come up with for a retrofit. You can find nice consoles for a fraction of the cost of repop or aftermarket. Auto salvage yards are even more fun browsing through than tool stores :)
