Chrome interior trim screws

Who carries chrome interior trim screws that would match those in my '73 Mach 1 with standard interior? I haven't been able to find them available as a separate item.

Part 2: What is the best way to fix stripped or loose holes where these screws attach to the underlying sheet metal? Is welding and re-drilling the only answer, or is there and easier way to go?

If your trying for show room perfect with the original screws then spot welding and retapping would be the answer.

If you can get to the back side of the screw hole you should be able to peen the threads in the sheet metal where the sheet metal has mushroomed out when they first installed the screw.

You can order these screws at Fastenal, but you need to know exactly what you are looking for.

Depending on the size of the screw you should be able to order the same screw head with the next gauge screw.

I bought a 123 pc kit $35 off ebay in 08. I don't know if the guy is still on there.

I tried to look it up no luck. Seller name is mikesclassicparts.

If you want to buy in bulk, McMaster is an easy option, you want "oval head philips"

You might try www.AMKproducts.com , select PDF Catalog, Ford page 223. Their site is a bit of a pain to use but, most of the fasteners you want are there. Sometimes you can "shrink" the hole with a dolly and hammer. Sometimes you can drill a new hole slightly off center from the original. Chuck
