Well it has come time for our cars to start celebrating their 50th Birthdays.  Mine rolled off the Metuchen NJ assembly line on October 8, 1970.

My previous one was a bit behind yours 28 Oct 70 ....but didn't get registered with his first owner until 27th April 1971 ... suspect engineering car for Ford all that while.

Mine will celebrate it's 50th on Feb 22 2021. Pity I won't be able to take it out for a Birthday drive............. unless by some miracle the weather is warn and dry, not holding my breath about that though in this area.

Just had her 50th a couple of months ago. Built on August 14, 1970 at Dearborn Assembly Plant. 1971 model year production began there on August 3, 1970, making this a very early (1,779th Ford) build. Sold to her first owner at Richards-Heath Ford, Villa Rica, Georgia, on September 25, 1970.

Looks like it's still wearing it's original chrome trimmed sportlamps?

The sportslamps are NOS replacements. I love tracking down NOS parts. Part detective work, part scavenger hunt.

My 1971 Mach 1, 429 SCJ, was assembled at the Dearborn plant on 12/11/70, sold on May 14, 1971 in Conover, North Carolina. But the original owner was killed in 1975. So, the Mustang was put in storage and sat unmolested until 1990. It was then completely disassembled (down to a bare shell) and remained that way until 2015 when I purchased it. Took 5 years to rebuild, restore, and reassemble. Finally, in 2020, after 44 years, it's back on the road again where it belongs.

Mine is number 902 from Dearborn built Aug 1970, sold originally in California (Can’t find my Marti right now).

Was 302 fastback, now 408 stroked Cleveland “Mach 1”.

Happy 50th Birthday.  Rolled off the Dearborn line 50 years ago today.  Car has evolved over the years from a basic 302 - C4 - 3.00: 1 open rear end Sportsroof to a 460 - C6 - 3.73:1 trac-lok almost clone Mach 1.

My 'Stang turned 50 in September.  Built September 3, 1970, sold September 30th.  It now has 74,000 miles on the clock.  Numbers matching and mostly original, she wears her 50 years better than I do, LOL.  Pewter paint with Black interior, Ram-Air "J" code.

Well, today's the day. She's 50 today, February 22 1971-2021. To "celebrate", I bought her a birthday card and a cup cake, but I'll eat the cup cake! Too wet and cold to take her out, but I did wake her up from hibernation to take these pics.

Happy Belated Birthday.  I had to laugh at the card.   What type of car cover do you have?  It looks like the inside is a soft fabric.

Thanks Kilgon. Yeah I got a chuckle from that card when I found it.

The grey cover I have is just a cheapo indoor type, but I only use it as a winter over cover. The burgundy one you see is actually Microfiber blankets I had sewn together. I bought 2 queen size and 1 double (if I remember right, or was it 2 double and 1 single!!) Anyway you get the idea. In summer, I use it to keep dust off and that's all in the garage.
