71' Grande project.
The day has come- the seats are here!

I bolted a Recaro Expert M seat with houndstooth upholstery in the Grande.

In Recaro speak the Expert is the model, “M” means wide seat base without tall bolsters.  They also make “S” bases that have much more pronounced base bolsters (better be a slim athletic build).  The seat back bolsters on the Expert are width adjustable with the small knob on the side of the seat back.

The brackets I used are an unknown brand, but sold by Griffin Motorworke in Berkeley CA.  Apparently made by a local outfit for them.  The 71-73 mustang bracket was a perfect fit.  The sliders have adjustable height holes and you can tilt the seat base with them if desired.

Any bigger guys might want to consider these seats with the M base since they actually sit lower than the stock seats.  You can adjust them up but I left the back adjustment in the lowest position and the front in the middle position.

I couldn’t be more pleased, but my wallet hates me.

Check with Recaro, they may offer the insert material by the yard and you can have matching inserts in the rear.

Really nice ! Recaro is fantastic seats, slightly jealos on you

Man, that looks light years more comfortable than our stock seats.

Looks like a great fit but i would call them out on how crooked the seam is on the seat cushion on passenger side. yes Ford was crooked but those are not cheap.
David gets the eagle eye award.

I sent off pics of the poor fabric pattern placement on that seat base to Griffin Motorworke.  They got ahold of Recaro and another seat is coming.  Whenever it comes in I’ll make a cannonball run to Berkeley CA (where Griffin is located) to swap them out.  I do have to say Griffin has been good about addressing the problem.

About 1 kidney.

The sliders were $145 each

The seat brackets were $145 each

The houndstooth seats are more than the standard expert seats.  The plain experts in black are about $1,000 each.
