Rear Honeycomb Panel / Will Standard Chrome Trim Work?

Recommended Posts

'73 Vert

I'd like to replace my standard (non-honeycomb) taillight panel with this: HONEYCOMB PANEL, TAILLIGHT - #423A42-2A - National Parts Depot (npdlink.com)

I understand that the replacement panel doesn't come with the top/bottom chrome surrounds. When I unbolt my standard panel, will the chrome bolt to the new honeycomb panel or do I need to order new moldings?

It has been over 10 years, but I do believe the aluminum moldings themselves are different between the standard panel and the Mach/honeycomb panel.  If the standard moldings will work with the honeycomb—I can’t answer that as it has been too long.  But they do utilize the same mounting holes and likely the same mounting hardware.

I will have to look tomorrow I have both and thought they were same. 71 - 72 has the black out added all bright on 73. I just refinished a set and just bought a metal panel for the vert and it came with trim also.
