I am looking for someone who has a lot of knowledge about these cars to come take a look at mine and help identify areas that might need attention on the body, especially the cowl area.

I am not sure how cowl is supposed to look, where it’s supposed to pass air through, etc…would love have to have someone look at the car…

I am getting ready to tear out dash and run new electrical…

It is almost a sure bet that the cowl needs to be replaced. Even southern cars and desert cars rust in the cowl due to washing the car with running water. The steel used was raw steel not galvanized steel so started rusting the day the car was built. If the front floors are rusty the cowl is bad. They do not rust out from the bottom up.  The best place near you for panel replacement is Graverobbers. Google them. They can do cheaper than you can.

The car was redone in the 90’s, then stored for 25 years, I want some other owners to look at it and see if it’s done correctly…

If someone doesn't reply, post some photos of what you can.  Particularly behind the dash and the front of the firewall.
I don have great pics, the plenum under grates is all painted with a black layer, there is one round opening on the passenger side I can look down and see an evaporator or heater core.

The drivers side was burned in a fire and has some heat damage and rust corrosion from that.  The blue paint has a layer of orange adhesive and some reflective foil stuck in it…

I have not got the car wet yet, if the plenum gets water in it, where does it drain?

and these colors are over saturated, it’s not that brilliantly colored!

this won’t be a show car, it will be a rain avoiding garage kept car that’s driven lightly and rarely washed….bu I don’t want water under the carpet!
