I am starting this thread so all of you attending and/or driving the HRPT can post pictures. I am looking forward to this adventure and looking forward to meeting those attending from this site.

T-2

Today was mostly prepping the car, making some last minute repairs such as a upper ball joint that was a bit lose. I have a trunk full of spare parts and tools and a car ready to go. I will be leaving tomorrow morning and staying near Cleveland to attend the 1st day of the HRPT which is in Norwalk, OH.

Taking the car out tomorrow for a "put it through it paces" road test.  If all goes well I will drive it up to Dayton to meet your guys for a day.  If not, I'll be driving my truck.   Either way I'll be there on Tuesday.

I envy anyone that is able to attend HRPT!  It’s on my “wish list” to do someday. I look forward to vicariously enjoying the adventure through posts and picture.

Day 1: today it was a great day at Norwalk, OH.

Met @droptop73. Of all the thousand cars here i was driving one car behind him as we pull into the raceway. He has a lot of drag racing experience so we talked a lot about it.

I run the car in the 1/4 mile for a very decent 13.5 @ 105.86. Then I put the car in the dyno for a terrible 366 @ 5100 rpm. Something was not right since I was expecting to top out at high 5000s. The torque curve was great though.

Tons of cars. This is car guy haven. Hard to describe in words or pictures.

Day 2 (Dayton, OH)

Nice drive from Norwalk. The back roads route is normally 3 hours per Google but it took closer to 4.5 due to stops and traffic. It was a super hot day. The A/C saved the day while driving but at the show it was super hot. Got to meet @Kilgon. Nice dude. We walked around looking at cars and vendors. We didn't see other 7173 Mustangs so we contemplated ours. While showing him my car I realized I had the distributor vacuum hose  unplugged. I removed it to check timing before leaving on Saturday and forgot to plug it. That was probably messing my EFI so tomorrow I will make couple more passes down the strip in Indy to see if there is a difference.

Here are a few pictures so far.

I'm following this write up with interest since doing the HRPT remains on my 'to-do' list.  Last year I had registered for the long-haul but as we know it was not to be.  Decided not to do this year's tour thinking the late August high mid-west temps are not in my comfort range these days.

I'm curious as to how many cars the HRPT is seeing this year as compared to 2019 and earlier.   Keep up the good notes and pics!

Went to the Dayton leg of the Power Tour yesterday and met up with @tony-muscle and was hoping to also meet @droptop73 but he did not stick around and left early.  Had a good time with tony walking around and talking about our cars and speaking with the vendors.

Was extremely hot and sticky yesterday.  Could have used a few cold ones.  Even though I'm from the area you never get use to this weather.  Not having a/c in my car made the drive home a extra long one.

The band sounded pretty good.

Wouldn't mind getting pulled over by her.

Day 3 (Indy):

Not too long of a trip from Dayton to Indy except that we drove through a torrential rain. The car behaved well except for a small water leak through the upper left corner of the windshield. The venue was at the Lucas  Raceway. Off course, i run the 1/4 mile again at 13.6 @ 105. I am still struggling at the start. I think there is a lot of improvement there.

Not too many pictures since i took more videos. It was fun to watch the different cars racing. Even an AMG with two bicycles on the roof, two big continentals, all kinds of trucks, a RX7 Mazda with an LS swap and many crazy stuff.

This is my slip. I was the car on the left. Ignore the car description at the top since they dont mean anything. The other car was a not original Yenko Nova that blew me at the start.20210825_221335.jpg

Glad to see all is still going well.  You shaved a second off so your improving.   Did you get a chance to see about running the dyno again?  Curious to see if the that line being off caused most of the issue.
