Hello everyone we built the 71 mustang known as Pegasus that I see a lot of people discussing on here and wanted to introduce the shop and we look foward to checking out what everyone has going on

Welcome! Very nice work! Do you do regular restoration work as well or just custom projects?

Hey, welcome to the 7173 Forums! We are glad to have you aboard!

Please understand that people have varying opinions on custom work like Pegasus but we like to support everyone's opinions here, no matter what side of the fence you are on! We are fully open to discussion custom modification restorations! It may not be everyone's preferred taste but I think everyone here appreciates the amount of work and skill that goes into a custom mod!

With that said, I love Pegasus...not only is it a cool concept, it has done a lot already to help bring the 71-73 model years into the spotlight!

I'm looking forward to seeing more of you projects! :D

::welcome::

::welcome:: from East Tn as Rocket said nice job, some is not to my taste but I'm sure my car the same could be said also. But I enjoy them all the same

+1 on what Barry said... Here we have more than 1000 members with every aesthetics taste in cars... So you may read likes and dislikes about Pegasus project but one or two things are for sure... We love and we learn about this kind of deep modification works because wether you like it or not, your project is one of the most if not the most professional customization of one of this era mustangs that we had the pleasure to see... The other sure thing is that like it or not, your Pegasus is on our minds all the time and that is good for you guys!!

Well... I'm from Montevideo, Uruguay and I welcome you guys, hoping your participation in our threads just to learn from you :)

Congrats on Pegasus, it is fantastic, even for a classic mustang guy like me! Je!!

Enjoy our site!!

Thanks everyone ,I understand the Likes/Dislikes completely and this build was more of the direction of " what would ford build today" and not trying to re-stylize a 71 . there is no animosity on this end what soever no matter how critical it gets , there are WIDE variations of taste out ther both good and bad , If all mankind liked the same thig the OEMs would already know about it and there would be one vehicle/one color/one motor/etc. to choose from at the dealer.....but who knows the Socialist track we are headed on....Sorry that is way too controversial for my third post LOL

Welcome Goolsby,

I applaude your work. The car looks great. What are your long term plans for the car? Someday when I grow up, I want to go the pro-street route with a fastback. Right now staying on the path or concourse restoration, but the urge is there to go wild with one someday.

bkdunha,

Thanks for the welcome , as far as the long term plans , the customer is driving the crap out of it and plans to for a while. he has been offered big money on 3 different occasions for the car but has passed on them and is just enjoying it , really makes us as builders feel good that doesnt want to offload to the highest bidder and he enjoys it.

Don65Stang,

thanks for the welcome and yes we do some restoration work and are in the process of one now on a 69 shelby gt500 now , but its not really our specialty as there is no creativity involved and your replicating someones interpretation of what it was built like by a bunch hotrodders at Shelbys shop....we have done a bunch of restoration/driver/stock appearing resto-mods that are nice, but the whole "wax pencil,correct stamped rivet,down to the 32nd of an inch on the seam sealer/overspray" is a liitle bit out of the realm of the way we build cars, it can be done its just hard for a bunch of anal perfectionists to leave a hood sticking up 1/8th inch because "they" say thats how it "was" factory, Sorry not trying to rant or put down "wax pencil restoration just some of it is hard when your mindset is another level of fit/finish I hope some understand my ramblings

Hey goolsby... you know what would be fantastic?... what if you tell... or better show and explain the process of Pegasus?... If you was arround a few days reading us, you should know this crew a little... In here, there are several guys that trully shares the passion of restoring thier old but loved cars... Most of us are amateurs that are hungry of knowledge from guys like you and the other pros we have arround from who we learn and try to apply that to our cars :)

I'm sure that having the posibility to be in touch with somebody like you that did an awsome job is fantastic... this forum is all about friendship and understanding and help others, no matter how much original, powerful or good shaped cars we own. the fact is we own GREAT cars that we love and we all going in the same way in that matter...

There's no point of analyzing Pegasus as a like/dislike project and THAT IS NOT THIS SITE BEHAVIOR at all... This site however is based on help and learn and each one of us tries to help the one in need and learn from others facts, knowledge or even creativity to solve problems... I bet you are going to feel very comfortable in here and as you obviously will be helpful for us, i bet you too are going to learn a lot from other amazing guys that knows this cars, or engines, or bodywork just unbelievably well...

Anyway, i'm just a regular guy from Uruguay trying to explain in english (not my native language) our goals as a groups of guys in here... I honestly invite you to share your process and why not, look for other projects... amazing projects and fantastic cars we have in here... Feel free man, we NEVER put other members dreams under question... we certainly are not gonna do that to yours, to your work that is obvious is FANTASTIC...

I'm just trying to tell you that we only pretend to learn and help... so if you need help, here we are.... I think we are done with every other way to see you or your project....

BTW, what is your name?

Welcome to the site. It's cool to have you join our community.

I like most of the design of Pegasus and 100% of the craftsmanship. I followed the build-up on Lateral-G. You guys do some real fine work.

Like was mentioned above we look forward to interacting with you.

::welcome:: from Ontario Canada

I love the craftmanship you guys put into the car. Some of the mods I love,some .......

anyway welcome to forum from someone who can only wish he had the resources and the talent to be able to do what you guys did!

welcome and very nice work on the car. pegasus is one of three 71-73 mustangs that i switch back and fourth on my background picture. hate to jump right in with the questions, but would really like to know the specs on rear wheels and tires. have done many searches trying to find that info
