I am helping an old guy at church. He has a 66 mustang conv.that he bought new in 66.got it running and going the only problem I am having is with the Instrument panel no lights.All other lights work fine.Going to replace the light switch Thursday.What do ya'll think.I know it's not a 71-73 but it's a mustang..thanks

Good starting point. Get your electric meter out and start checking. I'd also look for a bad ground wire.

The power does go through the light switch on a 66 for the dash lights

The light switch has a rheostat on it that controls the dash light dimming when the switch is turned. A little corrosion or a short and the windings burn out. You can try jumping across the rheostat, see if that lights them up.
