So we have a 73 front end on our 71 and getting it replaced. But preparing to send car to body and dropping the gas tank to replace. Only thing is our tank has sender fuel line port on middle of drivers side of tank. All the repros I see show sender fuel pickup on top middle. Now this car started production 7/70 so sometimes I wonder about carry over parts or just who knows what in this car. Any help

I believe the hole in the top of tank you are thinking about is the return/vent to charcoal canister 4twt8i.jpg this a replacement tank for a 71-73 mustang and the fuel pick-up and sender is on the side of tank like original
